Two people were hurt and four were displaced when a car crashed into a home near Valhalla High School early Tuesday, coming to rest halfway inside the structure.
The vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into the house in the 900 block of Jamacha Road in El Cajon about 2:15 a.m., smashing into the bedroom of a couple who was sleeping at the time.
Paramedics took the man and woman to a hospital for treatment of serious and minor injuries respectively, Heartland Fire & Rescue Capt. Dave Belloli told OnScene.Media.
“We ultimately had two people transported with varying degree of injuries,” Belloli said.
Belloli added that the motorist, a 26-year-old El Cajon man who passed a field sobriety test, appeared to have escaped the wreck unharmed. “We assessed the driver and he was complaint-free on our arrival.”
The crash left about 80% of the vehicle inside the home, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
