Cooler, cloudy weather was expected early in the week for San Diego County, with warmer weather likely to ease in by next weekend, forecasters said Saturday.
Gusts over 20 knots can be expected in the outer waters during the afternoons and evenings through Wednesday.
Along the coast, a mix of cloudy and clear conditions are expected this week, with daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s. Inland valley areas are expected to be partly cloudy through mid-week and mostly clear by Friday, with highs reaching the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a moderate-risk rip current, with surf height from 2 to 4 feet, water temperature from 53 to 61 degrees and a mixed west swell from 280 degrees and south swell from 210 degrees.
Periods of gusty winds through county deserts and mountains are expected this week. The deserts are expected to be mostly clear and sunny, with highs in the mid- to upper 70s. Partly cloudy and clear conditions are expected in the mountains, with highs in the upper 50s to mid- 60s, the NWS said.
Mostly sunny conditions are expected after 10 a.m. Sunday in downtown San Diego, with patchy fog in the morning, gusts as high as 20 mph and a high near 66 degrees.
