A gunman dressed all in black opened fire Thursday at an El Cajon dental office, killing one person and wounding two others.
The gunfire, in the 400 block of North Magnolia Avenue, erupted shortly before 4:30 p.m., according to the El Cajon Police Department.
The alleged shooter, later identified as Mohammed Abdulkareem, 29, fled on North Mollison Avenue in a white U-haul truck with the Arizona license-plate number AM14894, police reported.
El Cajon police reported that Abdulkareem was taken into custody around 10:02 p.m., but offered no further details.
Capt. Rob Ransweiler told reporters one victim died and that the other two, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s, were hospitalized in stable condition.
Police earlier had asked anyone spotting Abdulkareem to avoid approaching him as he was believed to be armed and dangerous.
