Ready for the Fair? The Toyota Summer Concert Series has been unveiled.
The series at the 2024 San Diego County Fair will feature comedy legends, hip-hop and R&B icons, Latin favorites and country and Southern rock stars.
The lineup, most of which was announced Wednesday, includes Grammy winners Little Big Town, TLC and Old Dominion; one-time late-night hosts Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall and Craig Ferguson, and, hot off his Super Bowl halftime show appearance, Ludacris.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. March 8 online at sdfair.com. Fair insiders can take part in a special pre-sale from 10 a.m. March 6 through 11:59 p.m. March 7 by using the promo code GROOVY2024 online.
Tickets to the Toyota Summer Concert Series include same-day admission to the fair, the largest community celebration in the region, running from June 12-July 7.
The 2024 Fair theme, “Let’s Go Retro,” offers a nod to nostalgia with a focus on fun. Kicking off this year’s opening day lineup at the Fair is Hawaii-based roots reggae band, Kolohe Kai.
The band’s name: Kolohe means “rascal,” which founding member, Roman De Peralta’s family called him as a child. Kai means “ocean” or “saltwater,” in tune with the band’s love of surfing and the ocean.
Next up is Old Dominion, an Academy of Country Music winning and Grammy-nominated Nashville-based country band. Multi-platinum R&B artists TLC — the best-selling girl group of all time — will ring in opening weekend. Pepe Aguilar will perform as the first headliner in the fair’s Domingueando en la Feria (or, “Sundaying at the Fair”) Sunday series.
Week two will feature Southern rockers, Whiskey Myers, a band famous almost overnight when they were featured in the first season of the neo-western, Yellowstone.
The “Kings of Late Night” features Leno, Hall and Ferguson on the Corona Grandstand Stage. The third week of the fair includes Alabama-based country vocal group Little Big Town. Grammy-winning rapper and actor Ludacris, will appear, followed by Norteño band, Los Tucanes de Tijuana for Domingueando en la Feria.
The fair’s Independence Day tradition continues with the Fireworks Extravaganza and a performance by Hombres G, a Spanish pop-rock band.
Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Concert tickets, which vary from show to show, will range from $40 to $125.
